War and Peace combines a mobile strategy game with a connected webshop. My contribution spans the web interface, the service layer between the shop and game, and backend features, working as part of the wider engineering team.
Commerce and backend work
- Migrated payment flows to shared group infrastructure
- Reworked checkout, routing, error handling, and analytics around purchase journeys
- Built event storefronts and limited-time promotional experiences connected to game state
- Implemented A/B tests and product instrumentation for iterative improvements
- Contributed to NestJS and TypeScript services connecting the webshop to game accounts, offers, and purchases
- Worked on authentication, sessions, and checkout behavior across service boundaries
- Worked with MySQL/Sequelize, Redis, and BullMQ for persistent data, sessions, and background processing
Frontend engineering
- Modernized the webshop with Svelte 5, Vite, and reusable interface components
- Ported mobile-game features to the web, using the Unity/C# client to understand behavior and data requirements
- Improved mobile navigation, shop layouts, loading and error states, and localized product experiences
- Worked on analytics, consent, seasonal themes, and the asset pipeline used by the storefront
Testing and delivery
My work includes Playwright end-to-end coverage for public, authenticated, payment, and mobile flows, alongside unit tests for application logic. On the backend, I contribute within a TypeScript codebase using Jest and integration tests.
Changes need to remain consistent across the browser, service layer, and game. That means tracing failures across APIs, validating edge cases, checking deployments, and preserving existing purchase behavior while adding features.
What this demonstrates
Practical full-stack development in an established product: customer-facing interfaces, backend services, data, automated testing, and ongoing production work.
